Exfoliating is a must-do for healthy, glowing skin. Especially if you are a SPF moisturising lover (as we're sure you are)! Let us explain why it's so important! 👇
Your daily SPF and moisturisers are excellent (and essential) for nourishing and protecting the skin. However without weekly exfoliation all of that product (plus your dead skin cells, other grime and gross stuff) can hang around on your face long after you want them to.
Sounds gross right?
It is! And it can lead to clogged pores, breakouts, congestion, dullness and the build-up prevents your other products from penetrating deeply and actually, um, working.
So, what’s the best kind of exfoliant to use?
Everyone’s different, but we’re firmly on Team Chemical Exfoliants becuase of the instant results. This however doesn't mean it has been be harsh on the skin. In fact, the 180 AHA Facial Peel is ultra gentle and there is no harsh scrubbing or skin peeling involved. Being that it is so gentle, you can do it in the comfort of your own home without the risk!
So, why AHA?
There are two types of chemical exfoliants (AHAs and BHAs). If you’re looking to clear away a build-up of dead skin cells AND keep your skin happy and radiant? You want AHAs!
How does AHA actually work?
AHAs break down the glue that hold skin cells together, which forces cell turnover to speed up. Increased cell turnover leads to fresh, new skin cells and a good amount of glow (which we all want).
There are a few different kinds of AHAs (like glycolic, lactic and citric) but in the 180 AHA Facial Peel we have used Lactic Acid. Why? Because it is extremely effective, obviously, but also because it’s known to be the most gentle on skin.
How often should I use them?
Best practise - you should be exfoliating one-two times a week to keep your skin happy and glowing and your pores really clean.
NOTE: Please don't over cleanse either. Exfoliating more than 3 times a week and can actually have negative effects on your skin and leave it dry and dull.
Anything else I should know?
AHAs lead to increased sun sensitivity, meaning that anyone using AHAs must wear daily sun protection. Great news we have a fabulous Tinted Moisturiser with SPF that you can wear daily and keep your skin in perfect glowing condition.
Let us know once you have given our AHA Facial peel wipes a go! We would love to hear your results! We know you'll love them!
Chao for now xx
