The story behind LOVE BEAUTY Co

Hi! I'm Priscilla Skippington and the Founder of LOVE BEAUTY Co.
I started this crazy beauty business journey in January of 2018, after a career in Graphic Design, Branding & Marketing. In March 2016 I started by very first business, a creative agency specialising in branding and helping small businesses with design, marketing, social media and websites. My love was really logo design, seeing my clients faces light up when I showed them their new shiny identity. The confidence it would bring to take on the big (sometimes scary) business world.
Shortly after starting this business (4 months to be exact) I fell pregnant (not an accident just happened sooner than expected) and well a few things changed!
At first it didn't phase me, I was determined to make it work, I was going to be pregnant, super business woman and inspire others just like myself that you CAN do it all. I continued to run workshops and meetup events until just two weeks prior to having my son. Then just six weeks after Digby was born I was back at it again, building my business, working with clients and running events. It wasn't until September of 2017 that it finally hit me (like a ton of bricks) I was a crazy busy mum with no time for myself and struggling to give my best to my customers and/or my baby. I wanted the "I can do it all" lifestyle but reality was I couldn't without something missing out. The theory of "work/life balance" seemed unattainable and something in my life needed to shift.
The business I had worked so hard to create no longer felt like a passion but more of a chore, I had fallen out of love with it and therefore my energy levels and my mood were not at all the typical Priscilla, I simply I wasn't happy. I knew I still loved design, fashion, beauty, marketing and technology but not in the form of my agency. I needed to find another avenue to express my interests that were going to allow me more time, freedom and over all happiness.
So less than four short weeks later (ta-da) like a magical epiphany, it hit me! "I need to create a network of women just like me!" Women who LOVE fashion and beauty, getting dressed up, mingling, networking and meeting other incredible business women, learning, growing and creating magic. And just like that the idea and network Sisters Stepping Up was born!
As much as I loved running events (and I do) I knew it couldn't be my full-time business, I needed something else that create me an income because like you I too have big goals and dreams! And at almost the exact same time as Sisters starting I made the (very scary) decision to take my side hustle beauty business seriously!
See, I had been toying with this beauty business (in the background) for just over a year but for some reason was ashamed to do it full-time. I think it was mostly because I was worried what other people would think of me. Would they judge me because I was a well respected branding expert who was throwing in the towel to become a beauty ambassador?? Well, when September of 2017 hit I could no longer worry about what others thought, it was time to do what makes me happiest. And well, the rest is history!
Again I was filled with passion and excitement, I put my head down and worked hard to launch what we now call "LOVE BEAUTY Co" in January of 2018. And guess what I am IN LOVE!
I now get to host incredible events where women connect and collaborate in style, I help women to feel amazing everyday either with starting a new found side hustle or by purchasing products that they rave about. Helping women to feel empowered and confident has ALWAYS been my calling, it was just finding where to channel my creativeness to that took a little longer to find.
So finally, WHO IS LOVE BEAUTY Co... The Love Beauty Community (which is what the co stands for) is for women just like myself, who want the best in beauty, fashion and lifestyle. We don't settle for mediocre and we set in search for our dreams. We are a network of lovers not haters and appreciate the beauty that is life.
We are LOVE BEAUTY Co. xx
